Educating young minds through the ARTs.

Greetings from SAIL fifth grade.  If you visit our classroom you will notice that it is different from the average classroom.  How, you ask?  OUR WALLS ARE GREEN!!!!  We painted our classroom the color green to promote a calm and relaxing environment.  Green represents purity and harmony and has a calming effect, thus, serving as a beneficial stimulant for children.
This year fifth grade is focusing on careers.  We have classroom jobs that relate to actual professions.  Our librarian takes care of our classroom library, the artist is the caretaker of the art center, the teacher’s assistant is in charge of assistant the teachers when needed, the office manager is responsible for maintaining the classroom office, the caterer delivers lunch and breakfast, the receptionist answers the telephone, the author monitors the writing center, while the botanist cares for our classroom plants.
We are excited to be at SAIL and we hope that you come check us out!!!

The 5th grade is studying the abolitionist movement. They created posters to represent what they’ve been learning.

The motto is: “Loose Change  Loosen Chains”

Students Created images of what they hope to learn in the 5th grade.
