Location
SAIL shares a home with VSA Wahington, D.C., our umbrella organization serving DC children and youth with special needs for almost 30 years. Thus we have access to a wealth of youth and family resources within our own building.
Having a downtown location (16th & L Street, NW), SAIL is convenient for parents as well as volunteers who work nearby. It also enables use of all the cultural resources of Washington, DC. Classes often field trip to nearby museums, parks, and galleries.
School Day
- K-5: The school day is 7:45am to 4:30pm
- 6-8: The school day is 8:15am-5:45pm
- SAIL offers Aftercare for grades K-5 until 6pm. Because of SAIL's earlier start time this year, there will be no before care. Aftercare availability is filled on a first-come first-serve basis, and there is a $25 activity charge due at the time of registration.
Meals
- SAIL provides breakfast and lunch and students in Aftercare receive snacks.
- Most students receiving special education services are eligible for free school bus transportation.
