The mission of SAIL
is to provide an innovative, arts-infused learning community
for students in Grades K-12. We encourage students with different
learning styles to use the arts as a means of accessing academic
achievement, and to develop awareness and appreciation of
the arts as a personal and individual expression of knowledge.
The focus of SAIL is on the development of the whole child,
intellectually, emotionally, physically, and socially.
SAIL provides a full educational program for all students and
participates in the National School Lunch program to provide
noon meals to the children. Over 90% of our families participate
in this program. Over 65% of our students have a recognized
learning difficulty impacting traditional school performance.
Grades
K-6
The
SAIL class schedule is 8:45 am—3:45 pm Monday
through Friday and before- and after-care services
are available.
Students are eligible for enrollment if they are:
1) A resident of the District of Columbia, and
2) Within grade ranges offered.
SAIL is accepting applications for the 2006-2007 school year.
Our enrollment period for the 2006-2007 school year is February
1, 2006-June 1, 2006.
